What are your career goals and how do you feel the OTM degree
program will assist you in achieving them?
My short term goals are to increase my knowledge in the fields of
manufacturing and business and learn how to effectively merge the two. I
am hoping that the in-depth expertise I acquire through the OTM
program’s specialized training and opportunities to apply theoretical
knowledge to real-life situations will help open doors for me here in
the United States, which will have a great impact on my career.
Eventually, I would like to secure a managerial position in an
intercontinental manufacturing company. In the long term, my goal is to
be able to share my expertise back in my home country, possibly by
starting up my own consulting company or teaching at the university
level.
~ Agustín Malet Raga
Why did you decide to seek entrance to the OTM program?
First of all, the OTM program is a smart SMALL program. This kind of
program enables the deep networking into reality. Under this
environment, I have more opportunities to contact with classmates and
professors. This is vitally important for students.
Second, it focuses in Operation Management. This education combined with
my background and experience will help me find out a job – a management
position in American company in China.
~ Tony Tang
I want to gain skills that will allow me to have a greater impact on a
business’s success. I am proud of my engineering background, but I was
looking for something that would better prepare me for leadership roles.
The OTM degree will let me build on my engineering background while
giving me the business skills I need to pursue those leadership
positions.
~ Jim Olson
How do you know the program is right for you?
I know the program is the right fit for me because of its highly
integrated MBA curriculum, emphasis on career development, and focus on
providing the necessary tools needed for students to become highly
effective business leaders.
~ Tumay Kojasoy
In the OTM program, I meet people from similar engineering backgrounds
and with similar goals: combining engineering and business
experiences to assist in their future career success. Different from some
general MBA programs, UW-Madison MBA focuses more on building the student’s
specialization rather than just giving a broad view of doing business.
Also, because I know what my future career will be, this is the
place to help me achieve it. That’s why
I believe UW-Madison MBA is right for me.
