Operations and Technology Management
- developing leaders who create business value
Operations and
Technology Management (OTM) is an MBA
specialization for those seeking positions as consultants, analysts,
product/service managers, project leaders, business developers, or
operations, information technology, and supply chain managers – while
priming themselves for senior leadership roles.
OTM’s flexible curriculum provides for both depth and breadth, and
focuses on developing key skill sets needed to be successful in today’s
organizations. You can follow one of three tracks:
- Operations Management – Manufacturing Enterprises
- Operations Management – Service Organizations
- Information Technology Management.
Within
each track, you can choose among a broad array of elective courses drawn
from both inside the School of Business (e.g., operations, information
systems, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship) and from other
disciplines (e.g., law, biotechnology, engineering, health care).
Our graduates acquire soft and hard skills that allow them to design,
manage, and improve systems and business processes that have immediate
impact on customer value generation. They also develop a broad
foundation that allows them to master complex and integrated business
problems of strategic importance. Academic course work is complemented
by interactions with upper-level managers through individually assigned
mentors, and through advisory board meetings, guest lectures, field
trips, project work, socials, and internships.
Employment
Recent graduates have assumed positions in strategy and business development, consulting, financial analysis and investment, operations planning, supply chain analysis, logistics planning, product management, business analysis, and enrolled in corporate leadership development programs.
