One of the main partners in your career search is the Center Director.  The following is the range of services made available to students:

  • Meeting on a regular basis to review your career goals, including exploring job functions, industries and companies of interest.
  • Reviewing and critiquing of your mock interview videos
  • Reviewing/revising your résumé and sample cover letter
  • Following-up with contacts you made via job postings, attending info sessions, or through other job search related activities
  • Checking weekly job postings on the web - forwarding to you, and contacting the employers
  • Attending and promoting OTM students at on-campus Job Fairs
  • Promoting and attending on-campus employer information sessions
  • Connecting you with members at companies of interest
  • Conducting Job Search Workshops specifically for OTM students
  • Providing information about events to increase your visibility, including case and business plan competitions
  • Participating in regional and national professional association events to promote OTM

Erdman Center Industrial Advisory Board members are eager to see you become successful and can help by:

  • Mentoring
  • Leading roundtable sessions on career progression and strategies
  • Reviewing résumés, and pass them on to their HR departments
  • Conducting mock interviews
  • Attending Board meetings and social events hosted by the Center to get to know you better
  • Forwarding full-time and internship opportunities within their companies and networks

The Erdman Center/School of Business Alumni databases are available to you for:

  • Contacting Erdman Center and school alumni at organizations of interest so they can forward your résumé and promoting your application internally to their firms
  • Providing academic and career advice from the alumni perspective

MBA Career Services Office staff is available to help you in a number of ways, including:

  • Conducting specific career sessions for OTM MBAs (for example, Résumé Roundtables)
  • Offering a web-based recruiting system for searching job postings, submitting résumés, and signing up for interviews
  • Conducting workshops on career related topics
  • Assisting with individualized help with résumés, letters, contacts, and salary negotiations
  • Organizing on-campus employer information sessions

Engineering Career Services is another resource that you can take advantage of. This office’s assistance includes:

  • Accessing companies of interest, job postings, and contact names via the website
  • Inviting you to ESC Career Connection (Spring and Fall Career Fairs)

You can gain a great deal from involvement with professional and student associations (like APICS, CSMP, ASQ, AISP, etc...). Opportunities include:

  • Utilizing association sites for identifying full-time and internship opportunities
  • Attending association meetings to learn, present and -- above all -- to network.
