Laura Francis

Promega
Laura Francis is the chief financial officer for Promega Corporation, a Madison-based firm which supplies solutions and technical support to the life sciences industry and has revenues exceeding $200 million. She is responsible for planning, analysis, business intelligence and business development for the company. Since Francis joined Promega in 2004, the company has experienced 40% growth in revenue, 60% growth in profitability, and 85% growth in shareholder value. Francis was the key driver in three acquisitions that have added to organic revenue growth and profitability.
Before joining Promega, Francis was the chief financial officer of Bruker BioSciences Corporation, a publicly traded life sciences company with revenues greater than $250 million. Prior to her experience with Bruker BioSciences Corporation, Francis was chief financial officer for venture-backed companies Nutra-Park, an agricultural biotechnology company, and Hypercosm, a software company. Earlier in her career, she was an engagement manager with McKinsey & Co., a consulting firm, and an audit manager with Coopers & Lybrand, an accounting firm. In addition to her BBA from the Wisconsin School of Business, Francis holds an MBA from Stanford University.
