David Johnson has recently joined Micheal Foods, Inc. as president, COO and CEO-elect. Previously, Johnson was the President of Kraft Foods North America. Michael Foods is a diversified food processor and distributor with particular interests in egg products, refrigerated grocery products and refrigerated potato products. Principal subsidiaries include M. G. Waldbaum Company, Papetti's Hygrade Egg Products, Inc., Crystal Farms Refrigerated Distribution Company and Northern Star Co.
Johnson left Kraft Foods in 2005, after spending nearly 20 years with the company. Johnson started with Kraft in 1986 as a brand manager in the Kraft Cheese Division, and has since held several positions within various divisions of the company. In 1998, Johnson was named executive vice president of Kraft Foods, Inc., president of Beverages, Desserts & Snacks Division. In 2000, Johnson was named group vice president, Kraft Foods, and president of the Meals, Enhancers & Food Service Group, and a member of Kraft's Management Committee. Johnson was named group vice president, Kraft Foods North America and president, Beverages, Desserts & Post Group in February 2001, and in September of 2002 he was named president, Kraft Foods North America Operations, Technology, Procurement, Information Systems and Sales.
