Bill Nygren

Harris Associates, Oakmark Fund

Bill Nygren is a partner and portfolio manager for Harris Associates, managing the Oakmark fund, the Oakmark Select fund, and the Oakmark Global Select fund. He joined Harris Associates as an Investment Analyst in 1983 and later served as the firm's director of research from 1990 through March 1998.

Previously, Nygren was an analyst with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. Nygren was named Morningstar's Domestic-Stock Manager of the Year for 2001. In addition to his MS in Finance from the Wisconsin School of Business Applied Security Analysis Program, Nygren earned a bachelor degree in Accounting from the University of Minnesota in 1980. He has over twenty-eight years of investment experience and is a CFA charterholder.
