Spanish Language Faculty Development Program

CIBER supported Professor Chaves’ travel to Avila, Spain, to attend the Teaching Spanish for Business conference hosted by the Florida International University CIBER during the summer of 2004. This workshop is intended to provide Spanish language professors with a deeper understanding of the field of international business, a source of employment for many students of foreign languages. The program also assists instructors like Dr. Chaves, who is actively engaged in the curriculum development of the new Business Spanish major at UW-Eau Claire, to seek new practices and resources to improve their teaching abilities in the Spanish Business environment.
