K-12 Resources
EconomicsWisconsin
In order to help integrate issues of international trade and economics into Wisconsin's primary and secondary educational system, the University of Wisconsin CIBER works in cooperation with EconomicsWisconsin, a private, non-profit organization that promotes economics education among K-12 teachers. The goals of the council include preparing Wisconsin's next generation to do the following:
- Make Wisconsin's businesses more competitive in today's global market
- Understand how our economy works
- Make informed choices as employees, managers, consumers and citizens
- Become knowledgeable and productive members of the workforce
- Maintain the institutions of democracy and a market economy
CIBER support has enabled the development and delivery of multiple workshops, all geared toward international economics and trade, which are offered throughout the year via multiple UW-System Centers for Economic Education for K-12 educators.
For information on when this year's K-12 international trade and economics workshops will be offered, please contact James Guenther, President of EconomicsWisconsin at jguenther@economicswisconsin.org or by phone at 414.221.9784.
