Building Strategic Partnerships and Alliances
Overview
This year’s conference theme, “Building Strategic Partnerships and Alliances,” highlights trends occurring across the industry and offers a variety of opportunities for networking and learning. The breakfast, lunch and reception speakers spotlight global and Wisconsin industry trends, the upcoming election’s impact on the industry, and the State of Wisconsin.
A number of informative and thought-provoking activities are planned:
-Ernst & Young kicks off the day with an overview of "Beyond Borders 2008" highlighting how the biotechnology industry is fundamentally reinventing itself in light of patent expirations, and the growth in personalized medicine and globalization
-Large pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare and research products companies will present their business strategy and criteria for selecting partners
-Sessions on a variety of topics including innovative solutions to funding challenges, government's role in encouraging partnerships, establishing yourself to be a desirable partner, partnering opportunities in global health, etc.
-Exhibit Hall highlighting 40 companies and supporting organizations
-Congressional leaders keynote the "Just Before Election Day" luncheon to discuss each party's view of biotechnology's impact on the new economy
-Presentation of the Rising Stars of Wisconsin's Bioscience Industry Awards
This full-day conference will close with a reception and a special keynote by Governor Jim Doyle. (Invited)
