Speaker Biographies

Christian Bartley, WTC Wisconsin
The current CEO of the World Trade Center office in Wisconsin, Christian Bartley’s specialty is international market growth for small and mid‐sized companies. He has assisted the local office of the World Trade Center directly since 2002, and has been involved with the organization as a member since 1995.

Kevin Makowski, Foley & Lardner
Mr. Makowski is a partner with Foley & Lardner and a member of the firmʹs Transactional & Securities and Commercial Transactions & Business Counseling Practices and the International Business Industry Team. His work focuses on: Merger and acquisition transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, serving as general outside counsel for a number of U.S. subsidiaries of foreign MNC as well as smaller to mid‐sized entrepreneurial companies. Cross‐border transactions are a particular emphasis of his practice. Kevin has extensive experience representing U.S. companies in complex multi‐national transactions, as well as representing foreign companies in domestic transactions.

William Wong, Virchow, Krause & Company
William Wong, a partner with Virchow Krause & Company, LLP, joined the firm in 2004. He has been performing tax work since 1981, working with a diverse base of clients in the manufacturing and retail industries. In this time, Mr. Wong has assisted his clients to implement many value‐added tax planning ideas.

Dan Horton, The Horton Group
Dan Horton leads The Horton Group’s international practice, and is a sales executive with Horton Risk Management Services division in Waukesha. This division includes all insurance, risk management, and risk financing alternatives that pertain to commercial property and casualty. He is responsible for new account development and providing a high level of service to existing clients.

Gregory Dorf, JPMorgan Chase
Greg Dorf is a senior vice president at JPMorgan Chase where he has spent the last 14 years in commercial banking since returning to his native Milwaukee. In addition to serving a diverse group of multinational corporate clients, Mr. Dorf manages the Bank’s Middle Market banking teams in S.E Wisconsin and Minneapolis. He has been instrumental in delivering the bank’s global capabilities to local middle‐market companies.

Robert Gardenier, M. E. Dey & Co.
Robert Gardenier is the fourth‐generation owner of M. E. Dey & Co., Inc., Wisconsinʹs oldest and largest custom broker house. The firm began with a single employee and now operates offices in Milwaukee and Chicago, employing more than three dozen professional people to assist clients with nearly all aspects of their import and export business.

Christen Pechman, WTC Wisconsin
Christen Pechman is the director of operations for the World Trade Center Wisconsin where she manages the day‐to‐day operations and membership benefits. Her responsibilities vary from the development, coordination and implementation of strategic seminars and global business missions for the local international business community to working very closely with the organization’s membership and overseeing the research staff.
