Grassroots Campaigns for International Human Rights
Overview
Preceeded by a local Tibetan activist, Tsetan Dolqar, Grassroots Coordinator for international human rights organization, Students for a Free Tibet, will discuss the role of Tibetans and non-Tibetans in the Tibetan independence movement, and his role in nonviolent direct action during the Beijing 2008 Olympics in China. He will discuss his personal experience in growing a movement through grassroots activism, and the role that grassroots activism, particularly on campus, has in the campaign for international human rights. The Grassroots Coordinator will address how the Tibetan movement can be a model for social movements around the world.
