In business, you need to be savvy and sensitive to the issues inherent in conducting business globally, working with a variety of countries and cultures. Students from the Center for Brand and Product Management have incredible opportunities for “hands-on” international experiences, beyond classroom case studies and coursework, to help prepare them for their careers.
2009 Turkey Trip
This year the students traveled to Turkey to learn more about international business; the group began in Istanbul, visiting Kimberly-Clark, P&G, Nestle, Kraft, and J&J and then continued on to the Cappadocia region to see the rock-cut and underground cities created as early as 300AD. The group ended their trip by visiting Kuyadasi and the ancient city of Ephesus before they returned home.

2008 India Trip
In January, students from the Center traveled to India to visit Mumbia and Delhi. The group visited many international companies including Coca Cola, Unilever, General Mills, Motorola, P&G, and a local ad agency. They also had time to experience the culture of India including a visit to the Taj Mahal.
2007 China Trip
Twenty-seven students from the Center traveled to China to visit Shanghai and Beijing. During the visit, the group had the opportunity to visit with many global companies. They were also able to explore the incredible cities, including visiting such sites as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven.

2006 Brazil Trip
Fourteen students from the Center participated in this journey through the business world in Brazil. By visiting a host of companies in Brazil, including Procter & Gamble/Gillette, Walmart, Ford and Yahoo, students learned about emerging markets and issues in doing business in South America.

The Center funded a considerable portion of these trips because of the significant marketing experience gained by the students. By visiting corporations, retailers, and getting exposure to the culture, students received a unique opportunity that could never be duplicated in the classroom. |
