Amy Schmidt
Co-Director, Center for Brand and Product Management

 

Amy is the Director of the Center for Brand and Product Management. In addition to managing day-to-day operations of the Center, Amy is responsible for growing the Center’s reputation and size and leading the marketing efforts to potential students. Amy joined the Center for Brand and Product Management in July 2003 following a ten year career in the consumer product goods industry.

Amy grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received her BBA from Valparaiso University. In 1994, Amy graduated with a Master’s degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Madison after receiving a fellowship from the A.C. Nielsen Center. She began her career with Kraft Foods in Chicago and worked on brands including Kraft, Good Seasons and Seven Seas Salad Dressings, Bulls-Eye and Kraft Barbeque Sauces, Polly-O Italian Cheeses and Philadelphia Cream Cheese New Products. In 1998, Amy relocated with Kraft Foods to Madison, Wisconsin to work on the Lunchables team. Amy joined the Boca Foods acquisition team in 2000 when the Boca product line was incorporated into the Kraft portfolio of brands.

Amy left Kraft to join S.C. Johnson in June 2001. During her time at SCJ, Amy helped grow the Skintimate and Edge shave gel brands and then worked in Home Storage with new product development with the Ziploc brand teams

 

 

 

 

Sarah Tueting
Co-Director, Center for Brand and Product Management

 

Sarah is the Director of the Center for Brand and Product Management. She focuses on employer relations, as well as providing academic and career advising to students. Sarah also develops the Applied Learning Curriculum by bringing in key executives that share real-world learning and hands-on experiences as part of the CBPM program. Sarah graduated from the Center in 2005 and has served as both an Assistant Director and a Consultant to the CBPM. She joined the program as a Director in early 2008.

After graduating from Bucknell University with degrees in both Economics and Spanish, Sarah began her career at Swander Pace & Co., a San Francisco-based consulting firm that evaluated strategic initiatives for Fortune 500 food, beverage, and consumer packaged goods companies. She continued her Marketing career with positions at Excite@Home in Redwood City, CA and HubbardOne in Chicago, IL. Immediately prior to attending Business School she worked for Dean Health Plan in Madison, WI.  She returned to Business School in 2003 and was a member of the first class to graduate from the Center for Brand and Product Management.  During school, she secured a Brand Management internship at Kraft Foods in the Oscar Mayer division, working on the Boca and Back to Nature brands. 

 

 

 

 

Carrie Olson
Assistant Director, Center for Brand and Product Management

Carrie Olson joined the CBPM in the Fall of 2008 as Assistant Director.  Carrie received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. 

After graduation, Carrie began her career with Target Corporation, starting as an Executive Team Leader at a Target on Madison’s East side.  Over the next three and half years, she managed day-to-day operations at her store which annually grossed over $75 million.  She oversaw sales floor operations as well as the schedule for 200 employees. 

Carrie’s passion for marketing and management from Target helped her to successfully transition into her new role at the Center for Brand and Product Management.  Carrie’s responsibilities include student recruitment, marketing, career development, and planning the students’ real-world learning experiences through the Applied Learning curriculum.  Carrie has shown a real passion for the program and its students, and is striving to make the CBPM the top choice for prospect students.
