David Palfenier is president, ConAgra Foods Grocery business unit, which includes such well-known brands as Hunt’s®, Pam®, Banquet Homestyle Bakes®, and Chef Boyardee®. He joined the company in October 2004 as senior vice president, Marketing for the Frozen Foods division, and was promoted to general manager, Frozen Foods in April 2005, and to president, Frozen Foods in July 2005. He assumed his current position as president, Grocery Foods in February 2006.

Palfenier is a seasoned marketing professional and general manager with more than 20 years experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. Prior to joining ConAgra Foods, he was vice president, Marketing and general manager for the $2.6 billion immediate consumption business unit for Frito Lay Corp. in Plano, Texas. In his 13 years with Frito-Lay, Palfenier worked in increasingly responsible marketing and general manager roles, both domestically and internationally.

From 1990 to 1991, Palfenier worked for Chiquita Brands International in Cincinnati, where he served as vice president, Marketing for John Morell and director, Marketing for Famous Brands. He began his career with Proctor & Gamble, starting in Sales and rapidly progressing through several Marketing assignments.

Palfenier holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Eastern Washington University.
