President, Istumus Partners

Jim is president of Isthmus Partners, specializing in medtech marekting strategy. His 25 year career with Guidant/Abbott and nearly 30 years in the medical technology field has included roles in marketing, sales, new product planning, business development, international and general management. Three global assignments with Guidant spanned 10 years and included 5 years based in Europe. He's been involved in therapy and technology areas ranging from pacemakers, defibrillators, heart failure therapy, coronary and carotid stents and critical care infusion pumps. He's had the opportunity and privilege of working with pioneering physicians from around the world and across multiple fields in cardiovascular medicine.

He earned an MBA in marketing (1978) and BBA (1975) from the UW Madison. He is a native of Monona, WI. He currently lives about 20 miles south of San Francisco and has season tickets at Camp Randall stadium.
