President and CEO
Lindsay, Stone & Briggs

Located near the UW campus in Madison, the brand marketing firm Marsha founded, as a grad student at the UW, serves clients from the Fortune 100 to strong regional brands. These brands appreciate Lindsay, Stone & Briggs’ philosophy that consumers don’t separate a brand’s positioning from its products and services, usage experience, advertising, Web site or blog. All of them blend together as the “brand” in the consumer’s subconscious.

Because of this holistic point of view, the firm has pioneered the bundling of brand research and positioning and its strategic application, not just in marketing communications but also in concepting innovative new products and platforms. LSB’s leadership is this area is made possible by the firm’s 18 years of extensive research and development on branding, including studying best practices from around the world. The firm reports on its findings at its annual symposium, Brandworks University®, an intense MBA-level learning experience that has become a Mecca for marketers from around the world.

Marsha brought this same passion for learning and the leading edge to the UW School of Business, launching and teaching the MBA course in Brand Strategy and Management in 2003 and 2004. Among others, the Conference Board has enjoyed her as a keynoter, and publications such as Ad Age, CMO magazine, Investors Business Daily and Booz Allen Hamilton’s Strategy & Business have featured her thinking.

Marsha has been honored as a ‘woman of distinction’ by the International Woman’s Forum; named to Working Woman Magazine’s 500 top women businesses owners and honored as Wisconsin Woman Entrepreneur of the Year. She has received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the UW, and has served on the board and executive committees of The American Association of Advertising Agencies. In her free time she is an avid reader, runner, sailor and adventure traveler.
