Student Feedback about this service provided to BuckyNet users:
“InterviewStream allowed me to gain the confidence in my interviewing skills. After having the chance to work on my responses multiple times, I am now comfortable interviewing face to face with an employer. Without this tool, I could not have found a job!”

InterviewStream
InterviewStream is innovative software that you can use to enhance your job interviewing skills and develop an edge over the competition. The complete InterviewStream system creates a compelling and realistic interview experience where you are able to respond to challenging questions. The questions are the same questions you would get in a real job interview. You can use InterviewStream whenever you want, and as often as you want to prepare for any employment opportunity.
InterviewStream offers the only online video-based practice interviewing system. It is easy to use and is designed to help jump start your career.
InterviewStream provides feedback of non-verbal behavior and communication missteps, plus it's a helpful tool for objective advisor assessment.
Importantly, students are most comfortable with this on-line video approach, using it an average of 2.4 times!
Four Steps to Success
Step One: Getting Started
Log-in to your BuckyNet account, and click the InterviewStream link under the 'Announcements' section of the homepage.
Find a computer (currently PC users only; Mac version to come later this year) that has a web camera, microphone ability and, of course, an internet connection. This can be done from the comfort of your own home; however, you may need to access a computer system with a webcam in another venue, such as the BCC. Once you've created an account with InterviewStream and logged on to the InterviewStream site you're ready to interview online or schedule an appointment to use the InterviewStream Kiosk at the Business Career Center.
From Home
If you have a computer with a webcam and an internet connection, you can practice in the privacy of your own room and at any time that is convenient for you. You will need to create an account with InterviewStream and then download the InterviewStream software to your computer to get started.
To use InterviewStream online, after you have logged in, simply click “Interview Now From Home Webcam Required”. You will then have to download InterviewStream to your computer (you may also have to download “Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0”). Once everything is downloaded, you are all set to start practicing your interviewing skills!
At the BCC
You can also use InterviewStream at the BCC. The BCC will provide a private room where you can practice as well as instructions to get you started.
To use the InterviewStream Kiosk at the BCC, there are two options. Either contact the BCC Front Desk directly and set up an appointment time, or go to the InterviewStream website (click the link under 'Announcements' on your BuckyNet Homepage), create an account, log-in, and click “Schedule Interview At Your Career Center”. You will be able to select a date and time that works for you. Appointments are in half hour time blocks, and are subject to room availability.
Step Two: Select Interview Questions
You can choose from up to 1,000 questions covering a whole array of different topics. Or, you can choose from pre-selected questions designed to help you focus on specific industry subjects. Whether you’re just starting the job search process or are an experienced interviewee, you'll find that InterviewStream’s catalogue of questions will prepare you for just about anything that can be asked.
Step Three: Record & Review Responses
Once you have crafted your interview, it is time to start. A virtual interviewer will come on the screen and ask the questions you’ve selected. After each question is posed, the web camera will automatically start recording, the interviewer will remain on screen, and you will have two minutes to answer the question. If you finish before the end of two minutes, you can click your mouse to end the recording. After this, you can review your responses. Re-record as many times as you like and when you are satisfied, accept the reply and move on to the next question. You can then continue this process until you have successfully completed your interview.
Step Four: Upload & Share Interview
When you are done with your interview, it will automatically upload the video responses to the InterviewStream servers and you will be sent an email with a link leading you to where you can retrieve and review your session online. You can also share your interview with others, such as family and friends, business colleagues, professors, etc., and ask them to give you feedback and pointers.
Students are encouraged to set up an appointment with their career advisor, who can review and offer feedback on the recorded interview session. After you have completed your recorded InterviewStream session, contact the BCC Front Desk to schedule an appointment with your career advisor.
