Finding the Business Career Center
Mailing Address:
Business Career Center
3290 Grainger Hall
975 University Avenue
Madison, Wisconsin 53706-1323
Once you have arrived at the School of Business, Grainger Hall (view directions), take the elevators to the third floor, and follow the signs to the Business Career Center, in Room 3290.
If you have no parking permit with you when you arrive on campus or if you have additional parking needs, limited parking may be available the day of your visit under Grainger Hall (Lot 7) or the Fluno Center for Executive Education (Lot 83). If space is available, a permit may be purchased from the parking booth attendant. If a parking permit is needed for an evening information session in Grainger Hall, permits are generally available after 3 p.m. and may be purchased for a nominal fee from the parking booth attendant.
Metered parking is also available in several locations near Grainger Hall. You will need to bring change with you, as there are unfortunately no change machines near the parking meters. While most parking meters have a two-hour maximum, all-day meters are available for Lot 46, located two blocks from Grainger Hall (see map).
The Business Career Center opens at 7:30 a.m. Muffins and coffee are available in the Recruiter's Lounge from 8:00 - 8:30 a.m., so plan to arrive early if possible.
When you arrive in our office, please be prepared to give us one business card. You will receive a folder containing your interviewing room assignment, name badge, interview schedule, and resumes for the students on your schedule.
We hope that you will adhere closely to the interview times, as both recruiters and students are on tight schedules.
Please let us know if you would like to reserve a cab at the end of the day. A "time call" will be placed requesting pick up at the Brooks Street entrance to Grainger Hall.
Interview schedules typically include a half-hour break at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. There is a Recruiter's Lounge where you can relax between interviews, get caught up on your e-mail and voice mail, and meet with other recruiters and Business Career Center Staff.
The Recruiter's Lounge contains computers, laptop stations, and telephones to check your e-mail and voice mail. We also have headline news on TV to keep you connected with the world.
Vending machines are located on the first floor of Grainger Hall.
Telephone messages left for recruiters are promptly delivered to their interview rooms. The telephone number for the Business Career Center is 608.262.2550
We would also be happy to send or receive faxes for recruiters. The fax number for the School of Business Career Center is 608.265.4190. Please include your full name and the name of your organization when having a fax sent to you. An incoming fax will be delivered to your interview room.
Digital and analog cellular phone service is available in Madison. Reception for cellular phones in Grainger Hall is typically best near windows (i.e., in interviewing rooms or the recruiter's lounge). We have several types of cellular phone chargers, to keep you charged up and ready to go.
Both wireless and cable access is available to recruiters for your convenience. Stop at the Business Career Center front counter to ask for directions and receive your guest account login information.
We would be happy to run photocopies for recruiters at the BCC counter. Computers and printing are also available in the recruiter's lounge.
Lunch is scheduled between 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. unless you indicate otherwise in BuckyNet when requesting your schedule. For your convenience, a deli is located in room 3275 Grainger Hall (formerly the Executive Dining Room which has been closed due to construction on Grainger Hall). A list of other lunch options including nearby campus restaurants and delivery services is available in the Employer’s Lounge in the Dining Guide Book.
When you've finished your day's interviews, please check out at the BCC counter. We would be happy to follow up on any items which may assist you, call you a taxi, or make recommendations for a good place to find something to eat.
So that we may continuously improve our services to employers and students, we ask that you take a few minutes to fill out our survey which will be email to you following your visit.
