Please see the Actuarial Science Solicitation Letter for information on the Hickman Larson Fund, and for your convenience you can print out and mail the Hickman Larson Donation Form or visit the UW-Foundation site to make a contribution to the Hickman Larson Fund on-line. The table below tracts the growth of the fund since the campaign’s inception in 1991. The fund was created to jointly honor the Actuarial Science Program’s first coordinator, Bob Larson, and our former Dean, Jim Hickman. Professorship and chair funds are endowed; interest earnings from the fund are spent by the designated faculty to support his or her scholarly activities. The fund has not yet spent significant funds. Professor Hickman was named the initial appointee and in 1993 spent less than $10,000 for support of his scholarly activities. Virginia Young held this Professorship from 2000 until her departure in 2003.
