Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Insurance (ASRMI)

Partner With Our Program

The ASRMI Department engages in mutually beneficial partnerships with companies. Partnerships can be formal or informal, and are customized to meet organizations' needs.

Student Recruiting

Whether it be as an intern or a full-time contributor, our students make strong employees. We encourage you to participate in our annual ASRMI Career Fair  held in the early fall of each year. Connect with our Business Career Centers for more information about recruiting students at the Wisconsin School of Business.

Student Development

When you support student development at the Wisconsin School of Business, you help ensure our students meet your recruiting needs. Many professionals share their knowledge in presentations to the Actuarial Science Club and Risk Management and Insurance Society.

Companies also support student development by joining the Co-Curricular Learning Board, which creates real-world learning opportunities for students. Your participation increases interaction with students outside of the interviewing room.

Shared Research Projects

Most organizations have projects that need attention but never seem to get done. Our students can help your organization complete the project, and save you time and money in the process. ASRMI faculty can help supervise all project work.

Continuing Education

The Wisconsin School of Business' ASRMI Department can create customized continuing education programs for your staff. Contact Department Chair Margie Rosenberg to learn more. The Wisconsin School of Business also hosts Executive Education courses at the award-winning Fluno Center.

Industry Conferences

Munich Re America partners with the ASRMI program to host an annual Casualty Claims Seminar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The main objective of the seminar, which targets casualty claims adjusters with three to five years experience, is to help increase the general level of expertise and skill among primary carrier claims departments, thereby improving primary insurer loss experience.

In addition, the ASRMI department hosted the 44th Annual Actuarial Research Conference (ARC) in 2009--reflecting our commitment to collaborating with industry leaders. This conference provides an opportunity for academics and practitioners to meet and discuss actuarial problems and their solutions.

Financial Support

Industry partners make financial contributions which support our ASRMI program.  These financial contributions provide for student scholarships and study materials and general support of the ASRMI program. Some partners have contributed to the long term success of our program by providing funds to endow faculty professorships. Your financial contributions provide the resources that our students and program need to be successful. To learn more, click here.
