Actuarial Science and Risk Management and Insurance majors have a strong track record of securing internships. Internships help clarify students' full-time placement goals, and expose them to different company cultures, work environments and types of work.

Many employers recruit full-time hires directly from internship programs. All employers appreciate the experience that is gained from internships.

We strongly encourage all students to seek internships - even as early as after their freshman year. While some firms may prefer upperclassmen, many employers are open to hiring younger, high-quality candidates.

The ASRMI Career Fair is a great first step in obtaining an internship.  You can interact with industry professionals, including many UW-Madison alumni, to learn more about the industry and their particular firms.

You can obtain assistance on your internship search from ASRMI faculty and staff, the Business Career Center or the MBA Career Management Center.
