8th annual Actuarial Science & Risk Management

Career Fair - Friday November 16th, 2007


Registration is open for the Eighth Annual UW Actuarial and Risk Management and Insurance Career Fair.  The date is Friday, November 16th, from 5:00 to 8:30 PM, at the Fluno Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Student involvement in the Fair this year will again focus on those majoring in actuarial science and risk management/insurance.  Invitations will be extended, however, to students in related fields, including those connected to actuarial science (mathematics, statistics and economics) as well as appropriate business majors (finance, marketing).  We expect participation from freshmen through masters students.  Our intention is to focus on students particularly interested in insurance-related careers.

This year we will again be at the Fluno Center, but we will occupy two floors to provide you more elbow room for better interaction with our students.  On Saturday, November 17th, we invite you to interview for full-time positions. Our Business Career Center will be open to facilitate this process.

On-line registration is easy and on a first come, first served basis.  There is also a discount for early registration, so register early.

Steps for registration:

1.) [5 minutes] If you are not already, register with the Business Career Center, no cost is involved.  This gets you set up to access student resumes and can be used for setting up on-site or other interviewing.  This also will allow you access to the the career fair registration.  It may take a day or two to get your username and password.

2.)  [10 minutes] Once you have a username and password, use the same link to the website above to register for the fall actuarial science/risk management career fair.  The registration page will ask you for contacts at your organization who can fill in the information about your organization necessary for our career fair booklet.  Just enter all of the requrested information and submit your registration.  You will receive a confirmation e-mail.

3.) [10 minutes]  After that, but before the career fair, the contact people you have given us for our information booklet will be sent a link to a website where they can review information about your organization from last year to see if any changes are necessary, and edit if there are changes.  The page will be pre-populated with information from the 2007 career fair.  If this is your first time attending or if you haven’t given us this information in the past, this may take a little more time.
