Program (Conference Program)
The conference sessions will take place in Grainger Hall, the site of the Wisconsin School of Business. On-site registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday July 30 with the conference opening at 8:30 a.m. The conference will continue over the next two and one half days to end at 2:45 Saturday, August 1.
We anticipate holding education and industry plenary sessions, with the contributed papers organized into parallel sessions.
We will also have at least three hours of professional development for those who wish to get a head start on fulfilling their continuing education requirements of the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries (as well as other professional bodies). This will include an ethics presentation by Professor Denis Collins who will feature topics in his 2009 book "How to Create an Ethical Organization."
Breakout rooms that will allow participants internet and email access will also be available. Posters will be an important part of the program, available for viewing at the receptions prior to evening meals.
We will begin with a reception on Wednesday night (time and place to be determined) to allow early arrivals to pick up registration materials. Cecil Bykerk, SoA President, will give the welcoming speech at the Thursday night dinner at the Pyle Center. The Friday night dinner will be held at the Business School's Fluno Center for Executive Education. Although the conference concludes late Saturday afternoon, we have also arranged for a terrific theatre experience at Wisconsin's own American Players’ Theatre (APT) in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
