Enterprise MBA Programs

A new internal School of Business platform, “Enterprise MBA Programs,”
was created to grow and leverage the strengths of the school’s MBA degree programs for working professionals—the Wisconsin Evening MBA and Wisconsin Executive MBA.

The programs target different populations of working professionals, and offer differentiated curricula and student services. The new organizational structure is designed to highlight and increase synergies in managing those MBA offerings and allow the School of Business to market each effectively.

Wisconsin Evening MBA

The Wisconsin Evening MBA program is designed to offer professionals the opportunity to gain a degree without interrupting their careers. The close-knit program offers hands-on learning. Students attend classes two evenings a week for three years to develop broad, cross-functional management expertise. Students and alumni of the program represent more than 150 employers. The majority of its graduates are managers and executives in the Madison and Milwaukee areas.

In 2006, a major curriculum revision expanded coverage of economics and
data analysis. Broadened student services include an executive speakers’ forum. A Milwaukee-Madison shuttle service, implemented for the first time in 2006, resulted in a significant increase in Milwaukee-area professionals entering the program.

Looking Ahead

Beginning in spring 2007, the Wisconsin Evening MBA
will offer an international study trip to students during
their second year, to provide in-depth understanding of
issues involved in global business. The inaugural trip will
travel to China.

Wisconsin Executive MBA

The Wisconsin Executive MBA is designed to deliver value to high-potential, mid-career managers and their organizations. For the past 13 years, more than 200 leading Midwest companies have sponsored employees in the program. The average work experience of those enrolled is more than 15 years.

Students meet Friday and Saturday every other week for two years and out-of-town students have the option of staying overnight at the Fluno Center for Executive Education.

Participants acquire core and emerging business knowledge and form strong professional and personal relationships. Students work in small teams and travel abroad as part of an organized international study trip.
The goal of the program is to enhance students’ personal effectiveness as individuals and the value they deliver to their firms.
