A key priority for the School of Business over the past year has been broadening and deepening our corporate partnerships.
Corporate Partners
We interact with corporations in a wide variety of ways. Corporations hire our graduates, send their employees to our Executive Education programs, generously support scholarships and programs, sponsor employees in our Executive MBA and Evening MBA programs, consult with our faculty and, in turn, share their expertise with our students through classroom presentations and on-site visits.
One of the most important ways the School of Business interacts with corporations is through advisory boards. More than 320 executives from leading firms throughout the country currently sit on 17 industry-related advisory boards, sharing best practices and providing advice on current issues and corporate trends. The majority of these boards are closely connected to our MBA career specializations.
Our outstanding alumni are the driving force behind nearly all of these corporate partnerships. They donate valuable time to help our faculty and students access important opportunities and resources within their firms. We are committed to making these relationships mutually beneficial so that our alumni can continue to forge these links.
Other ways in which the School of Business is working to strengthen ties to corporations include efforts to:
- Share knowledge through the efforts of our Small Business Development Center, Wisconsin Public Utility Institute, Family Business Center, Puelicher Center for Banking Education, Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and others.
- Increase the number of leading corporations hiring our graduates, especially those who have not historically hired UW-Madison graduates.
- Meet corporations' specific training needs by expanding the number of custom programs offered in Executive Education.
- Partner with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Office of Corporate Relations to strengthen ties with corporations identified as key university partners.
Looking Ahead
The School of Business will continue to develop new ways to maximize relationships with key corporate partners and identify more opportunities for our corporate partners to interact with our faculty and with undergraduate and MBA students.
