A new era in executive education at the School of Business began with the opening of the Fluno Center in 2000. Since then, there has been remarkable growth in custom programming for key corporate partners and a continuing commitment to public enrollment programs.
We offer the largest number of executive education courses among top-ranked business schools in the United States, serving more than 1,600 companies in the United States and abroad. In 2003, all Executive Education units combined served more than 14,000 attendees in 440 programs (this includes more than 6,000 people who attended almost 300 core public and custom programs.)
Executive Education offers excellent price/value compared with other leading executive education providers. Executive Education courses include 11 certifi cate programs and more than 80 business topics, including leadership, strategy, project management, fi nance and accounting, general management, marketing, operations and transportation.
Executive Education highlights in 2003 included:
- The London-based Financial Times ranked Executive Education 17th in the United States and 34th in the world and ranked the Fluno Center 8th in the world in caliber of food and accommodations, surpassing Harvard, Wharton and Columbia.
- The 3rd annual Directors’ Summit™ on corporate governance featured legendary mutual fund founder John C. Bogle of Vanguard.
- The first Women’s Executive Leadership Summit debuted with more than 200 top-level female executives.
- Three new programs were created: Executive Briefing for Insurance Professionals, Breakthrough Six Sigma and Power Branding.
- Manufacturing Symposium 2003: “Lean Manufacturing” debuted in conjunction with MRO Today Magazine – a two-day forum on manufacturing trends and issues featuring leaders from Boeing, Rockwell, DaimlerChrysler and Dow Chemical.
