Executive and Evening MBA Programs
Building Experience
In addition to its full-time MBA program, the school offers two part-time programs: the Evening MBA and the Executive MBA.
The Evening MBA
The Evening MBA was launched in 1998 to enable working professionals to advance their business education without interrupting their careers. Students complete the three-year program in general management as a cohort. In 2003, 43 students entered the program.
Program efforts in 2003 focused on employer development, with particular emphasis on enrollment from Milwaukee, Janesville and Rockford, and increased participation in the program by women and minorities. In the past year, alumni of the Evening MBA program developed their own alumni group called Bucky’s Night Shift. The group meets regularly to network, bring in speakers to discuss current business topics and consult for local non-profit groups.
The Executive MBA
The Executive MBA was created in 1993 for experienced, high-potential managers who wish to earn a graduate degree without interrupting their careers. In 2003, 30 students entered the program. They receive an Executive MBA degree following two years of part-time study on alternate Fridays and Saturdays. This rigorous program is designed to build on the knowledge and experience executives bring to the classroom.
In 2003, the Financial Times of London ranked the Executive MBA program 16th among all U.S. programs. This is the third time the Financial Times has identi- fi ed the UW-Madison Executive MBA program as being among the world’s best.
A major initiative of the Executive MBA program was development of a new international experience. A 10- day trip to study business in Argentina and Brazil was planned for the spring of 2004. In addition to its full-time MBA program, the school offers two part-time programs: the Evening MBA and the Executive MBA.
