Master of Accountancy (MAcc) - Masters in Professional Accounting (MPA)
For the Fall 2007, a pilot program is underway to accept applications from students who may not have a background in accounting. This MAcc-Masters in Professional Accounting (MPA) program is intended for students who typically do not have an undergraduate degree in accounting or its equivalent, but who have taken an introductory course in accounting. In the first year, students will complete a foundation curriculum including accounting courses in financial, managerial, auditing, taxation, and systems plus other classes such as finance, business law, and economics. Some classes may be waived. The second year would include a standard 30 credit MAcc curriculum coursework similar to that offered for the Five-Year Professional Program in Accounting-PPA. Students who are interested in this program should contact the Department of Accounting Administrator, Judy Schaeffer at JSchaeffer@bus.wisc.edu for further information, program advising, and application information (not available online).
