Alumni Spotlight on Glen E. Tellock

Glen E. Tellock is a 1983 graduate of UW-Madison with a BBA in Accounting and is currently serving as the president and chief executive officer of The Manitowoc Company, Inc. He joined the organization in 1991 after having worked at the Denver Post Corporation and Ernst & Whinney. His role at The Manitowoc Company is one of oversight, governance and strategic imperatives (growth, value, people, organizational development, customer focus and innovation). According to Glen, the key to his robust planning process is the good people that lead his business segments. When speaking about ethics, Glen says there is no alternative to doing the right thing -- everyone knows the difference between right and wrong. His organization’s ethics policies are driven by him, as the CEO, and everyone is expected to understand the policies, which are tested annually through an on-line assessment. Glen currently serves as a board member of Astec Industries, as first vice chairman of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, and is an emeritus member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the School of Business at UW-Madison.
