The Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin - Madison is the hub of entrepreneurial activity at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. Established in 1986, the Center provides a variety of programs and services relating to entrepreneurial management and development. However, its primary mission is entrepreneurial education for graduate students. The Financial Times of London ranked it as one of the 10 best entrepreneurial education programs in an international ranking of MBA Programs in 2000.

In recognition of the fact that a large proportion of those currently involved in entrepreneurial education are men, The Weinert Center is making a concerted effort to involve their programs more actively with women entrepreneurs and their special needs and experiences. The LEAP program is considered to be an excellent complement to these efforts.
