Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Insurance (ASRMI)

The ASRMI Student Experience

Our students enjoy a learning environment unlike any other.

Access to Faculty We believe the connections between student and faculty are a critical aspect of the educational process. ASRMI classes are small and student organizations work closely with faculty - creating a dynamic learning environment.

Community The connections with peers who share similar academic interests add to the richness of the program. Students form relationships that are valuable today, and long after they graduate.

Alumni Network Having built strong connections to the department as students, alumni stay involved with the program in many ways, from mentoring students, to speaking on campus about new developments in the industry, and helping place students in internships and full-time positions.

Applied Learning Applied learning projects are a defining feature of the ASRMI student experience. Through internships and project work, students work with risk management and insurance firms, providing an opportunity for students to apply what they have learned in the classroom in a real-world setting.

Affiliation with the Wisconsin School of Business Thanks to the department's affiliation with the Wisconsin School of Business, our students' specialized expertise in ASRMI is complemented by a strong understanding of business concepts. Students also have access to the resources of the School of Business, including the Business Career Center, the Accenture Leadership Center, and the Business Library.
